Automation/Controls Engineering

• High-Speed PC Based Multi-Camera System
  PIICO is providing a high-speed real-time multi-camera solution for a customer that requires high quality product inspection in the food industry.  The solution includes a redundant PC based vision system in a NEMA 4x environment to provide a robust quality inspection.
  
  
• Wireless Pump Control Solution
  For this customer, we provided a new control scheme that communicates wirelessly at Ethernet speeds to HMI and SCADA controls for monitoring and remote control.  PIICO's solution has provided the customer cost savings by allowing remote control that didn't exist before.

Electrical Construction

• City of Fort Madison Water Treatment Plant
  This is a multi-million dollar new water treatment facility, consisting of six 13,800 volt substations, for the main filter facility and well houses.
  Stand-by power provided by a PIICO installed 1000KW generator.
  The main facility houses a reverse osmosis system, filtering systems, chemical fill tanks and pumps.
  All the pump and instrumentation is controlled by Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation programmable controllers.
  
  
• Gerdau Ameristeel New Finishing End
  This project was a design build, multi-million dollar project that included wiring of cooling bed equipment, straightener press, straightener pulpit, cold sheer, stacking equipment, magnetic lifting arms, banding equipment and storage conveyors.
  PIICO designed and installed the raceways and cable tray systems based on schematic drawings and cable schedules developed in-house.
  The project also consisted of a new 13,800 volt substation, 480 volt substations, power wiring to 400 VFD controlled motors, signal wires to 1200 devices and sensors.
